Maggie Bielefeldt, MA LMHCA
“The things that go unsaid are often the things that eat at you—whether because you didn't get to have your say, or because the other person never got to hear you and really wanted to.”
― Celeste Ng, Everything I Never Told You
About Me
This work, and me: I have an affinity for fantasy and have spent an awful lot of time in my mind, and wondering about the minds of others. It is this curiosity that brought me to Psychology and the work I do now. Before receiving my MA in Psychology at Seattle University, I spent 4 years as a behavioral therapist for children and families. I learned a lot; About tools, childhood development, parenthood, but the most meaningful thing I learned was the importance of the relationship between the therapist and client.
The rules and structure of behavioralism felt rigid and stifling. It wasn’t right for me, or the way I wanted to serve my clients. I have since moved to an integrative and relational approach to therapy. Tools are meant to be picked up and put down. They may assist us on the therapeutic journey, but they are not at the center of our work. I am much more interested in exploring your emotional world, and the stories that are important to you, and have found those things are often the drivers of change.
I feel so deeply honored to get to share time with my clients and I’m incredibly excited for the clients to come. Each relationship in therapy can be transformative, I know each one has transformed me. This is my life’s work, and I would love to have the opportunity to share it with you.
When I’m not in session you can find me:
Watching Survivor with my partner and our dog.
Sitting at a cafe with a croissant and a coffee.
Going on a long walk.
Looking for resale clothes and toys for the kids in my life.
Crafting the perfect playlist.
Trying out a new creative hobby or project.
Having dinner with friends and family.

Sometimes we come to therapy with a specific goal in mind, or at the urging of others, or maybe we're not sure why — we just come looking.
Through curiosity, compassion and challenge, together we will create a meaningful space for exploration and growth.
