“Any real change implies the breakup of the world as one has always known it, the loss of all that gave one an identity, the end of safety. And at such a moment, unable to see and not daring to imagine what the future will now bring forth, one clings to what one knew, or dreamed that one possessed. Yet, it is only when we are able, without bitterness or self-pity, to surrender a dream he has long possessed that we are set free - we have set ourselves free - for higher dreams, for greater privileges.”
— James Baldwin, Nobody Knows My Name
About Me
I see therapy as a place to come to strengthen one's inner resources. I believe we are all whole beings - that sometimes need help remembering our strengths, inner wisdoms, and resourcefulness that have gotten us to where we are today.
My goal as a therapist is to provide a warm, safe, and non-judgmental presence so that you, the client, can explore and strengthen your ever-fluctuating and forming Self. I consider myself an integrational therapist- meaning that I like to work collaboratively with my clients and will often pull from different modalities such as mindfulness meditation, psychodynamic theory, internal family systems, radical self-compassion, and others to help meet your individual needs.
